As much as I love the Super Metroid video game, I don’t do much fan art to celebrate it. And I think that’s for the same reason I don’t really draw Transformers or Iron Man — The mechanical armor is INCREDIBLY precise, and I’m more interested in just drawing the basic figure and noodling some sketchy ink rendering, rather than being bogged down in the details of parallel lines and other techy details.
But, every so often, I’ll do something like this. Unfortunately, even though I remember drawing this, I don’t recall where I was, or even what year it was. I do recall learning that the Metroid Prime armor was different than the Super Metroid armor, though, and intentionally basing this on the older game, since I’ve still never played any of the Prime trilogy.
Anyways.
Samus is a neat lady.
