So there’s this manga & anime series called Hokuto no Ken, known in English-speaking countries as Fist of the North Star. It’s a post-apocalyptic tale where a bunch of crazy fighting happens, but early on in the series we’re introduced to Kenshiro’s deadly Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken attack, or the “Hundred Crack Fist of the North Star.” After quickly poking all the pressure points on a much larger and stronger opponent, when they stand back up to counter attack, Kenshiro informs his foe that they are already dead.

So, back in 2011, just to make Brandon laugh, I doodled this little comic of X-Croc running into The Great Quagmire, a foe much larger and stronger than he is. Croc pokes a pressure point, and lets Quagmire know that he’s already dead.
Five years later, when we needed a way for the heroes to finally defeat Quagmire once and for all at the end of New Hawk & Croc, Brandon and I decided that maybe this joke wasn’t the worst idea in the world.
(And before anybody gets on me about spelling “omae wa mou shindeiru/ome wa mo shinderu” differently/incorrectly, I’ve seen both spellings and I don’t actually speak Japanese. So go yell at whomever translated it differently.)
Anyways, it was fun to officially include a stupid joke I made referencing an overly violent anime into our comic.
